Vineesh Kappadan
Research Associate
Vineesh Kappadan is a Research Associate in Dr Ng’s research group, specializing in optical mapping studies of isolated hearts ex vivo. His work focuses on optical mapping of cardiac action potentials in Langendorff-perfused, isolated, contracting hearts to examine electrophysiological properties during both normal rhythm and arrhythmias. He also utilizes advanced motion correction techniques to remove motion artifacts from the recorded signals. He was awarded his PhD by University of Göttingen, Germany, for his work on ratiometric optical mapping and marker-free motion tracking of contracting hearts.
